Me! We all share the same birthday.
Lucky me. I got to turn 62 today, surrounded by a peach-colored halo reminding me that almost anything—even uterine cancer—can be a blessing in disguise.
This is the only adult birthday I’ve had within reach of memory that I haven’t minded . . . one bit.
No profound thoughts. Just gratitude to be able to post this message.
And a nod to some of the “friends” I share the day with.
Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, born September 24, 1896, photographed in 1937—just three years before this famous member of the “Lost Generation” died—and the cover of the first edition of his Jazz Age masterpiece published in 1925. Click the images for more.
James Maury Henson, born September 24, 1936, who back in 1955 gave joy to the world through his lovable Muppets (marionette puppets) and probable alter egos—especially Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy. Click the images for more.
Devils Tower in the Black Hills of Wyoming, declared a US National Monument on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt—who could not have envisioned that it would be made famous by a flying saucer movie in 1977. Click the images for more.
IN CLOSING, A MESSAGE FROM THE VOICE OF WISDOM:
A BIRTHDAY REALLY IS A HOLIDAY (“HOLY DAY”).
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR GOOD WISHES.
I’m so glad you don’t mind having this birthday. I don’t mind you having it either. It means all the more time I get to spend with you. Happy, happy birthday. I love you, Mom
